About
Photon Kit started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping links to weird little mobile games nobody else was talking about. At some point the list got too long to be a chat, so we turned it into a site. That's the whole origin story — no grand plan, just people who like playing on the bus.
We cover indie titles across the board: role-playing, strategy, racing, puzzles, oddball simulators. If a studio of five people made something with heart, we want to write about it.,Every game gets actual playtime before it earns a review. Nobody on the team scores something after ten minutes. We finish the tutorial, hit the mid-game wall, and see whether the thing still holds up an hour in.,Ratings are ours and only ours. Two editors might disagree loudly about a game, and when that happens we say so in the text instead of splitting the difference. We'd rather be useful than diplomatic.,We're a small crew and we like it that way. It keeps the writing personal and the taste consistent, even when the taste is a little strange.
